About the Project

We were commissioned by the Mercedes-Benz Trucks business unit to complete a full review of their digital marketing platforms.

Site restructuring and research were a key part of the early process between the us and the client. It allowed us to iron out all business changes and loopholes as the new website allowed more capabilities that the business had to catch up to. Research into competing brands and their presence in the digital landscape were key to restructuring the sitemap. I first took the original sitemap and re-visualised it for the client so we had a structured, digestible document to run through. This approach also allowed the client to see how buried important information was, having to click through 4 times to find a small piece of information about the trucks. The Unimog (special purpose trucks) were originally split into 2 separate sites. One of the challenges was to unify both trucks sites under one branch to save costs for the client and confusion for the user.

After breaking down the sitemap we were then in a much better position to build a newly structured navigation, product page and bespoke homepage.

The outcome

The initial meeting created a great bond between our team and the clients. We shared an equal vision of where we wanted the brand to be. The agency was then commissioned to create a variety of digital, video and strategic projects for Mercedes Trucks.
